September Google Update

After the upgrade from May 2022, this was the year’s second core update. This was introduced three days after the rollout of the helpful content update was complete. The upgrade primarily targeted pages that lacked user-helpful material and rewarded more informative pages with higher rankings.

It also covered topics including keyword stuffing, link schemes, and other manipulation techniques. The objective was to protect the integrity of search engine results, ensuring that only websites with relevant and high-quality material were displayed at the top of the results page (SERP).

Google also published an algorithm upgrade that concentrates on “doorway pages” in addition to this update. Doorway pages are websites that are made with little to no consideration for the quality of the content and are purely intended to manipulate search engine results and direct people to another website or landing page.
